Custom Photo Fall Fabulous Wall Hanging

I'm a huge fan of season-specific art/photos and I have quite a few projects cranking the wheels in my brain. Here's my fall fabulous one:

Materials:
  • One Fabulous Fall Photo
  • Mod Podge/Glue water
  • One Stretched Canvas (I think I had visions of painting a pink retro refrigerator with a smile on this, but it's never materialized, so now I can give it a purpose!
  • Pretty Fall Leaves (I used fake ones) you could also use scrapbook papers or acessories, etc.
  • Large Satin Ribbon
  • Decorative Trim for outside edge of canvas
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Stapler or glue or tacs (for Fastening hanging ribbon to canvas)
The design is up to you! I painted my canvas with gold craft pain first.
Once that was dry, I framed my little pumpkin-toting beauty with some fake leaves that I thought I could mod podge down, OOPS I was wrong. Thus began the battle with the hot glue gun and the alteration from a flattened image to a foofy 3D one :)!

I decided to paint the whole picture with modge podge, which gave it a really nice canvas-y texture. Note: make this decision BEFORE you start gluing your leaves on! After you have all the layers of leaves/embellishments you want, wrap the outer edge of the canvas with the decorative trim, hot gluing as you go. If your project is dry you can not turn it over and attach your hanging ribbon to the backs of the two top corners.

Since I uploading these pictures I highlighted parts of the photo (the main pumpkin) with some glitter as well as the veins in some of the leaves. It really gives it some sparkle!

Love it. I like that it turned out 3D and I bet Yori thinks it's pretty cool.
