A Tribute to a Teething Baby
Little teething baby, you cut 2 big buckaroos the past week and I'm so glad you (and I, and your daddy, and sister) survived. And now that we are at the finishing line looking back, I can truly say you took it like a champ. . . man, you're a good baby! It's hard to believe it sometimes. You cried a lot more than normal (which for you isn't too bad . . . I say NOW :P) and you required being held and coslept with almost non-stop for a little over a week. I was sorry you weren't feeling well, but loved having a constant cuddler. In a way, I am brokenhearted by the way your two toofas changed the look of your face, because it means you're already not a little baby--and i'm not sure how that happened so fast. But your new goofy look is quite possibly the cutest thing I've seen, and when you smile with that only slightly alarmingly large gap in between those two teeth I can't help but feel like the luckiest mamma in the world to be the one to comfort you through these baby battles.
Now you made it, little sweetie! You're back to sleeping in your crib, never crying, and not demanding to be my 24/7 tote-along. You almost make this baby thing seem easy enough to make me want another . . . but why change what a good thing I've got going! Here's to you until our next teething marathon!
