I've fallen so deeply in love

with a kitchen. . .I've lately been on a one-track interior design kick. I can't sleep because I'm thinking what kind of tile would best suit my style home and what fixture will get the most bang for it's buck in the guest bathroom, etc. etc. etc. But what I've really got sidetracked on is KITCHENS. My current kitchen, while new, lacks any personality or design ANYTHING. It's stock cabinets in a light wood (bleh) with white (YES WHITE!) appliances and wood trimmed laminate countertops. I realize I'm sounding super snobby here, don't get me wrong. I'm LOVING having a new home with a spacious kitchen, I just can't believe they would go so builders or whoever makes the decision decided to go so blah on the details! Further, before moving here my husband and I had just finished renovating the kitchen in our former house (cheaply!!!! ) and left an adorable kitchen with new white cabinets, beautiful granite tile counters, and stainless steel appliances! Granted, I love being about to fit in and actually use my kitchen, so the trade of was far worth it. It just leaves me in a constant state of "how can I make this amazing?" Plus. . . .I watch WAY too much HGTV for anyone's good.
ANYWAYS! My whole point of this blog (sorry I forgot for a minute) was to show you this FABULOUSLY beautiful kitchen I found on the back of a magazine in Home Depot (it's just a kraftmaid ad)! Tragically I think I'll have to wait until we are in a home that I know we'll be in for the long haul because it would pain me FAR too much to part from anything that even remotely resembled this kitchen :) But at least now I know I've found "The One"
What really got me swooning was that pearlescent glass tile backsplash! I'm in love.

An Easter Dress for Miss Y

Here is one of the dresses I made for Y using the Alexander Henry "April Showers" and "May Flowers" fabric I bought of etsy last week :) This is a pillowcase dress and I used this tutorial loosely: Pillow Case Dress. It's insanely easy and looks so adorable! If I can sew this, anyone can! I only used my husband (the professional ;) haha) to thread the machine, but I did all the sewing myself and it really looks great! I didn't follow the tutorial's dimensions very closely I just used a big rectangle of fabric and cut armholes :) You kinda can't mess it up (just my kind of pattern!!!).

Anyways, Y looked beautiful in it and had a fabulous Easter even though she was the only little one around :) All that running looking for eggs wiped her out, too. Giving us some organize garage and mow the front lawn (in the rain) time . . . which was MUCH needed! All and all a nice little Sunday ;) Hope yours was just as great!!!!

OMG THIS IS HAPPENING!!!!!

I couldn't be more excited about this duvet pattern I found on etsy's blog tonight. I CANNOT WAIT to try it!!!! I've been trying and trying to think of what Y's "big girl" bedding will be (granted this is still months away, but I've gotta get my wheels turning). If she hadn't been born a week late I might not have finished her crib bedding (oh the memories of laboring of 3" squared patchwork at 41 weeks pregnant! . . . sigh). Anyways, this is totally it. I'm thinking brighter fantastic colors and maybe some sweet head accesories for some of the nigh nigh creatures (bows maybe?) Anyways, I'm stoked and wish I could start this right this second!!!! hahaha But alas, my laundry awaits!

I want to go to there

If I could live in an animated dreamworld, it would be one created by Meomi. Kent's cousin, Emilia turned me onto the super fun site Shanalogic, which is where I caught my first glimpse of Meomi illustrations and I've had the funnest/facinating-est time googling and searching there stuff ever since. If you love kawaii fabulous creatures (as I do) and just plain CUTE artwork and books (as I do!) then you really should pop around their sites.
Don't you want to go to there too?!

How to NOT lose weight

I went on a moderate-paced 3 and a half-ish mile walk this evening with my husband . . . and then went to Baskin Robbins to get a pre-Biggest Loser Viewing hot fudge sundae . . . . yeah, not so great

Photoshop is my friend

I've loved playing with photoshop from the moment we got it, here are my two latest creations. The first is the shower gift I made for Miss A. The text is the lyrics top their song. I actually was the one who took the pic too, so I'm not botching someone else's work, although I don't think I botched it at all. . . in fact, I want one of my husband and I. I'm just not sure we have any "kissing on the beach in paradise" pictures of us. Maybe we could add some artistic flare and text to this picture:

What do you think? I think it'd look fabulous! haha
Anyways here are some other photoshop creations, oldies but goodies. Doesn't hurt that I know gorgous people
